I'm a Red Sox fan and I cant believe some of the things we are hearing from Manny Ramirez as the trade deadline rapidly approaches. "They dont deserve a player like me... I've seen what they've done to other players like Pedro and Nomar." WOW. You are absolutely ridiculous Manny.Ok lets look back here... How did both of those deals work out in the past? Nomar fizzled out after he left, and Pedro still hasn't recovered from an injury. That sounds like two pretty good decisions made on the part of the management, and as far as your mental peace goes, if someone handed me 20 mill to go play a game, I would be more peaceful than Ghandi during a nuclear war. He has caused these problems all for himself, not the management. The game doesn't lie. When you come out and give 50% and be selfish, you get what you get and you cant blame anyone else. All I know is that if most people went into their jobs and said that they didnt have mental peace, their boss would show them the door pretty quick. He's lucky he wasn't shipped out a long time ago.They should have sent him to Texas for A-Rod when they had the chance. Any how, the latest rumor has him going to Florida, who would send Jeremy Hermida and a prospect to Pittsburgh, who would then send the Sox Jason Bay,and either Jack WIlson or Grabow. The Sox have also been rumored to be sending rookie shortstop Jed Lowrie to Pittsburgh... Who knows. If Manny is gone, I'm happy. He's like a cancer in the clubhouse and his lackluster effort is not helping the Red Sox one bit. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. We'll see how it shakes out in the morning. Later

 I consider myself pretty old fashioned, and while everyone loves flashy home runs... I'm more interested in consistency, small ball, and team baseball. I strongly believe that there is a way the game is supposed to be played, and I dont think some of our stars today really get that. It's not about hitting a bomb and pimping it around the bases, It's not about how many cars and houses you have, and It sure as heck isnt about what you did as an individual, because it's a team game. I would love to see even the best pitchers in the bigs get up there without a defense and try to get every out by themselves, and the #3 hitter who has 40 homers and 120 ribeyes, try and drive in those 120 runs without anyone on base. I love scrappy players who hustle on and off the field, run out ground balls back to the pitcher, and lay out on a ball 10 feet from their glove. Effort is one of the main aspects of the game and I believe that is a big part of what's missing in today's game. Some of these guys who think that they are the second coming of God, need to get off the ego trip. Alot of players today play baseball because they can and they are good at it, not because they want to and that's somewhat dissapointing as a fan. But I'm not sitting here to bash the bigs, I love baseball, and I love professional baseball, I could just do without some of the flash.Alright well I'm headed out. Gonna go catch the Sox game on TV.
